I have said for the past at least 12 years that my son is affected by the full moon and many people and drs think I am crazy - I am looking for some more information about how to control and help him (my son) understand how he can get more self control during the day prior and often time depending on the intensity of the moon even after - it is a guaranteed 5-7 days before the full moon and a 3-5 days after that his behavior is elevated and there are issues to deal with at school, etc. Otherwise for the remainder of teh 20 or so days of the month he is fine. Meditation sounds great but how do I start and what do I do?

Thanks

My son has always been lunar active. However, 6 years ago he had brain tumour surgery and since then has been very affected by the full moon. I wish there were more information or studies on this phenomenon.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge with all of us much appreciated.

I very much enjoyed what you have said about the moon and it's influence on the tides of the sea and our bodies. It's a full moon now. I feel connected to it, and all else. Effected? maybe, if I so choose. Inspired yes. I like the way it lights up the apple tree outside my bedroom window. Also, I can see the bears who come down to delight in the ripe apples. I feel the tides of my heart and body are effected by all of this, but no less, the moon.

All these years I'd never been concerned about it (except if it was a public holiday) only recently someone told me so I came to know. But actually, after I posted the above, I got a doubt wondering whether it was that or was it his birthday. Googled and found that "this day the Buddha was born, attained enlightenment, and attained Nirvana when he died" Turns out to be 3 in one! ;)

The Moon Cannot Be Stolen

<i>
A Zen Master lived the simplest kind of life in a little hut at the foot of a mountain. One evening, while he was away, a thief sneaked into the hut only to find there was nothing in it to steal. The Zen Master returned and found him. "You have come a long way to visit me," he told the prowler, "and you should not return empty handed.
Please take my clothes as a gift."

The thief was bewildered, but he took the clothes and ran away.

The Master sat naked, watching the moon. "Poor fellow," he mused, " I wish
I could give him this beautiful moon."</i>

This is a great photo. Are you in India? These landscapes are gorgeous. I`ve always wanted to visit it, but money is tight in this end of the world. I like it when people post their countries in photos, be it as people, in this one, or landscapes, in so many others you show here. Great work.

The effect of moon on mind is something that I had always believed in.

Indian astrology has a concept called "Chandrashtama" (Chandra - moon; ashtama - eighth) meaning moon in the eighth house. The moon travels from one zodiac sign to another and stays there for approximately 2 and a half days. When the moon is in the eighth sign from one's own sign, then he/she experiences Chandrashtama. This is a time when the mind becomes disturbed and emotional than usual. I have had bad experiences on Chandrashtama days, in the sense, I may have been more quarrelsome or sensitive to people's comments.

Hello Suresh,
Thank you for the post. I am teaching earth science and would love to show statistics to my students for a 'pure science' perspective. Can you link me on to any those statistics you mentioned?
Thank you again.

Thanks. The photo portraits a man, who would look a foreigner in my Lithuania, but this man shines the Spirit of love and his eyes are like a mirror where I recognize as myself so lots of people who prefer love to talks about the love.

I'm sorry just for one. I dont know what moon stands at the moment.

Stunning photograph to accompany it as well.

Luna was formed by the most violent impact in our planet's history. A planetoid about Mars sized struck the proto-Earth twice. It's remarkable to me that such a violent impact created the Moon that we all gaze up at. Like the volcanoe or the flood, that impact remade the Earth into the cradle of humanity. Very nice post.

Lovely Suresh!
I didn't know that percantage of salt is the same in mothers womb and in the ocean. That's incredible.

Water is really most mysterious element in the Universe! Usually atoms in molecule are symetric, but hydrogen atoms in water molecule are not symetrical. If molecule of water would be symetrical, then water's boiling point would be at about minus 40 degrees Celsius (232 Kelvin) and of course life would not be possible!

I can't wait ful moon!

Brilliant and million thanks to you Djubba, thanks for your time and beautiful Insight. Incidentally both Gurdjieff and Ouspensky who visited India during their life time spent considerable time with Monasteries who practice "Way of the white clouds" meditation. Both being incredible personalities of our era, their Insights are obviously through experience.

I couldn't agree with you more on your observations.
