In nature a repulsive caterpillar turns into a lovely butterfly. But with humans it is the other way around: a lovely butterfly turns into a repulsive caterpillar. ~Anton Chekhov
Butterfly is a mystic phenomena but you may not understand it. Butterflies can create more flutters in your heart than any other flying insect. Butterfly is also symbolic of man’s own existence.
Man lives in a cocoon. His cocoon is full of Ego,Goals and Misery. Man keeps on building his cocoon with false materials, He doesn’t realize one day everything will disappear. He keeps building walls of security built on foundation of greediness. Man is a caterpillar destined to butterfly. and Only man and I repeat- Only man never realizes his potential to become butterfly.
Caterpillar needs to die to become a butterfly. Caterpillar needs to go through metamorphosis to become a Butterfly. Trust me Caterpillar has no knowledge about colors he can produce in his death. But he still moves with trust towards unknown.
In death, caterpillar explodes into millions of colors. In living in this moment ugly caterpillar becomes beautiful butterfly.
Remember to Live in this moment. Live this moment with so much intensity that every death of a moment gives rise to beautiful next moment. Live this moment is such ecstasy that you have no option other than getting out of your cocoon.
Live this moment with so much love that you have no choice but to explode into butterfly. Just be in Love with everything you see, be in Love with nature, be in love with existence , Be in Love in your deep acceptance. Love alone can give you wings. Love alone is enough to make you butterfly.

Love is the only substantial thing in life, all else is illusion. Let love grow in you and God will be growing on its own accord. If you miss love you will miss God and all.

Cathy, I think you just missed the point Honey!, You need wish everyone Including the ones you don’t care! you just wish and Include everyone ( I mean everyone including dogs, cats, neighbor, Britney, Bush
etc….). Love makes no differentiation and it is all inclusive.

It is so true that if we want to grow ,we should let our old self die(the obstacles)..
We all experience a series of births and deaths…
I find METAMORPHOSIS requires so much of courage to die – because we’re so attached to the security that the old provides. I imagine I often end up like a caterpillar that’s too damn lazy to get out of the warm comfortable cocoon.
I find this post particularly inspiring, because at the end of it – at the end of the death of the caterpillar – not just it explodes into millions of colors – it now has a new kind of freedom – as its ABLE TO FLY!!!

Thanks for this link Sanjay, I agree with your comments, Way back ( 6 years) I chucked up my job at one of the top organization ( where Veena works now)and went on to start new firm along with couple of my friends out of Singapore. I was kind of feeling living in Cocoon in Top IT company as Youngest Vice president. I am glad I did that As I took my new company to great heights before selling it off to Cisco competitor. Years later I chucked up Top management consultant Role again To join US group to become Investment Banker!
This is what I tell to all my juniors>, Never build safe nest around you. The more safer the nest the more chances that you have started to deteriorate. Take risks and Don’t look back; Flowering is not a reverse phenomena. Butterfly is way forward effect not way backward thinking. You go only one way and that’s ahead!

The story talks about taking risks, generally some people(specially older generation) remains happy in the cocoon for looong years & some of our generatin people get frustrated with mundane tasks & hence go searching for something new.. But one needs to identify & evaluate the risks in question.. Well written post, chiTTe & kaMbaLi huLa… enataha comparision…
Reminds me one email forward, in the metamorphosis the butterful need to swing out & get energised to fly. That is how GOD has designed it seems. Once a monk sees a butterful stuggling to get out & strech .. He helps it doing, soon after that the butterful dwells with pain.. & At the end the story says something like.. These are GOD designed process & we should not oversympathise which may even ruin the other person life antha…

I once had an experience of God, Love, Light ore Oneness, whatever you name it. I saw a light in my room. And i felt that everything is ONE, everything is happening NOW and everything is LOVE, the rest is an illusion.
Everything i knew before was completely blown away, i had to start again with a new view, on an empty page.
I feel so blessed that i had this experience.
