My friend and favorite Photographer Dith Pran is no more.  This week I  remember him for his bravery, triumph of Human spirit over war crime.

Please visit  http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/31/nyregion/31dith.html?hp

Dith Pran (born September 27, 1942 – March 30, 2008) was a photojournalist best known as a refugee and Cambodian Genocide survivor and was the subject of the Academy Award-winning film The Killing Fields. (He was portrayed in the movie by first-time actor Haing S. Ngor, who won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance.)

In 1975, Pran and New York Times reporter Sydney Schanberg stayed behind in Cambodia to cover the fall of the capital Phnom Penh to the communist Khmer Rouge forces. Schanberg and other foreign reporters were allowed to leave, but Pran was not permitted to leave the country. When Cambodians were forced to work in forced labor camps, Pran had to endure four years of starvation and torture before finally escaping to Thailand in 1979. He coined the phrase “killing fields” to refer to the clusters of corpses and skeletal remains of victims he encountered during his 40-mile escape. His three brothers were killed back in Cambodia.

From 1980, Pran worked as a photojournalist with The New York Times in the United States. He also campaigned for recognition of the Cambodian Genocide victims, especially as founder and president of The Dith Pran Holocaust Awareness Project. He was a recipient of an Ellis Island Medal of Honor in 1998 and of The International Center in New York’s Award of Excellence.

Pran died on 30 March 2008, having been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer just three months earlier.

It’s not difficult to explain the secret behind attractions towards creative artists.  Creativity comes out of  positive energy. Any work which you are immersed is like meditation.

Singers, musicians,  painters, photographers tend to immerse in their activity while creating their respective work. Meditation is nothing but action and activity is merged into form awareness.

It is a union of painter and painting, & it is a union of Dance and Dancer and Dancing.

These creative sessions tend to create a silence inside any artist. For that matter any creativity creates tremendous joy and silence inside you.

It is natural for anyone to get attracted to relaxation.  When you are stuck in day to day tension, you tend to get attracted to people who are more relaxed

Attraction of tension is always towards relaxation.

Sexual attraction at it’s deepest core in nothing but your longing for relaxation. Regularly Musicians feature as sexiest people on earth in survey’s.  Recently I was reading a survey in a leading US magazine about single most common reason for affairs!. Most of the respondents  indicated they tend to relax in the presence of the person with whom they had affair with! Interesting isn’t it!

It is nothing to do with the artist that he or she is attractive. It is just that you are so tense that any energy peaceful looks tremendously attractive. It is important that you have some space in your life dedicated to activity you love.

A hobby or something you are passionate about or something you enjoy will help you to see different side of life. It also helps you to take more responsible position towards life.

The reason why you are not able to make headway in your life with respect to relationships is because you are NOT ready to look at issues in a relaxed manner.  You cannot because you do not know how to relax.

It is difficult to teach relaxation by meditation from the start. But it is easy to teach you relaxation if you can find some work you love. Slowly your work will become your meditation.  That’s why most of the teachers say “find a work/job you love”; once you find something you enjoy everything else falls in place.

I say, start with a hobby you love and slowly you will see transformation inside you.

Meditation is art of relaxation. Meditation is nothing but  rediscovering you calm inner nature.

Just take a honest look at yourself, How many times in a day you think about your past and things which went wrong, injustice done to you by life, Bad luck you suffered, relationships which didn’t work out etc etc.

Your mind is constantly occupied with the same resentment and misery you have been carrying it for ages. You have gone over it thousand times but you still think about it all the time.

What can you do about it? actually nothing, other than thinking about it. Your growth towards happiness is chained by resentment and regrets. You are carrying large boulder of past.

You got to stop this.

You love entertaining yourself because mind thrives on such a misery. Your only opium of life is thinking about your past and your bad luck in life.

Forgive, Forget and Accept life in its deepest present moment. that’s the only way to remove your chains.
if you ask me why laughing is such a joyous phenomena that’s because when you laugh you don’t think. You just laugh, you just stay at the present moment. Love, orgasm, compassion, prayer all are ways towards present moment experience.

Unless you drop past, there is a very little possibility your future may be drastically different. Once you become light on heart then you will see different possibilities for yourself. There is a good chance that you will have lot of energy available to you to create better future.

Whenever you notice entertaining yourself, STOP IT, just STOP it.

This is a disease. Just move on, be grateful to thousand other things you have today and Love yourself for whatever you are and whatever you are not!

The act of creativity with artists, painters, photographers is fulfilling because for any such activity you need a fresh womb. fresh moment, Fresh present moment awareness. that’s why hobbies are so much close to your heart.

This existence is neither made of past nor future. It’s available in this present moment and that’s why it is called “present” moment or you can call it “gift”.

This is an ancient proverb and probably biggest open secret of centuries.

People talk about positivity and thinking positive. but to me biggest positivity comes from knowing you can trust life. Trusting life to take care of you.

Infinite patience means Infinite trust in life. Trusting life is nothing but deep trust in yourself.  Knowing that all your intentions will bear fruit at the right time. If you have infinite patience you tend to relax, you tend to be at peace with yourself. When you are at peace with yourself it is easy to see where you are going.

Very rarely man at peace indulges in dirty politics, ego fights, greedy motives. For him everything what he needs will eventually come to him, that’s his belief. That’s his trust.

Enjoy this moment and know that there is miraculous way of getting all your intentions come true. don’t be lazy , work towards your goals but without any tension about results. Put more energy into work because you trust.

Meditation is an art of trusting life completely. Meditation is prayer of deep trust. Being meditative means being in trust.

Love and lots of it

I guess it is our up bringing that makes us ask too many questions before we take any step forward. I keep getting lot of questions from friends, readers on Meditation, God, Happiness etc. everyone wants instant answers and gratification.

We are not ready for acceptance and present moment living. That’s why we carry so many questions. Questions are a stumbling block to inner journey. the beauty of inner journey is such that it start with an Answer!

Dropping questions means deep acceptance of present moment. It means you are living in here and now. it takes a lot more courage to accept present moment everything as it is and move forward and it doesn’t take much intelligence to question everything around us!

Awareness is a journey of no questions. Meditation is a journey into unknown. Do not get into why , when , What and how? if you do, then you have already moved far away from your road.

What is love? GOD? prayer? meditation? ..

you can go on making your life full of questions which you want to conclude. But the mysterious ways of life is that it is only made of answers. With silence , with awareness life mysteries keeps peeling off in front of you in silence.

Meditation is a question less answer. Meditation is when all questions ceases into present moment. Meditation is rediscovering question as an answer.

Silence is an acknowledgement of Noise!

Silence has been defined by literary meaning for a long time. In fact most of the people define silence in relation to noise. The reason why it is so difficult to convey silence to a student of meditation is because of his obsession with noise. He tries to kill noise before finding silence. Truth is it is easy to find silence if you just acknowledge noise.

If you feel that eliminating noise is silence, you are going struggle for a while. Silence is nothing but deep awareness of noise.

Silence is an acknowledgment of Noise!

In fact awareness of noise is Silence!

You need not have a quiet corner to do practice meditation. Any place would do. Yes for a beginner of Meditation silent place helps but its not a guarantee you learn silence well.

Do you know attraction of the drugs & alcohol is because of silence? When you are on drugs or high on alcohol this is what happens to you. You suddenly find that you can catch everything going on around you. You will find that you are in middle of noisy place but something inside you is spinning! its a exhilarating feeling! that exhilarated feeling comes from that you can notice more clearly everything happening around you plus you are aware of heady feeling inside you.

That’s why people often wonder how drunkards manage their way to home! but they do! but then it is stimulated awareness. it will lost as long as the effect of external stimulant is there.

You also feel same way when you are in love, have you noticed lovers, they can be in the middle of fish market but they can still look into each other eyes, smile, hold hands and kiss, nothing around them matters! In Love you also find your silent flowing center. but then it stays as long as your love stays.

Meditation is a honeymoon which never ends!

In meditation you will find the similar exhilarating effect but with awareness and with silence.

If you want to get to silence then start acknowledging noise first. don’t fight with noise. If you sit for a meditation and then you start acknowledging in awareness various noises around you then you will also find there is something inside you which is always silent irrespective of noise.

Meditation is art of finding center amidst all noise. Meditation is knowing something within in you is always silent irrespective of what is happening around you. Meditation is finding calm bottom beneath roaring ocean.

Love and lots of it

Barack Obama might be winning elections in Potomac primaries across US but Microsoft doesn’t think much of him! If you type Obama into Microsoft word and wait for spelling recommendation form Microsoft then it recommends Osama!

In history of mankind only two kinds of people have been remembered for generations. Only two kinds… Meditators and Murderers

On one hand Christ, Buddha, Krishna, Mohammad who are part of religious consciousness and are alive today with number of followers.

On the other hand Hitler, Saddam, Osama has remained part of daily unconscious thinking and are equally remembered regularly in various platforms.

It’s a strange history isn’t it? Well you decide what you want to pick?

Meditation is nothing but rediscovering your-self. Meditation is art of discovering whatever was there for centuries and whatever will be there for centuries. Meditation is Alchemy of transforming murderers effect on mankind.

Bullets never listen to prayer

Bombs can never be made in God’s courtyard

In war

you never win without losing,

In love

Only losers can win the game,

If you are not for love

if you are hell bent on revenge

Make sure you there are two graves , One for YOU & one for your so called enemy!

War is only an example, you fight everyday with friends, family, business etc. There is nothing like small or big in revenge. Look at yourself and answer how many times you wished harm to someone? Every time you consciously caused hurt or thinking about hurting someone then you have killed some part of your soul. Slowly you form a vicoious circle of peopel wanting to hurt each other. You have a tremendous opportunity to love someone, be nice to someone today, May you just helped someone from getting killed.

Meditation is the most courageous thing anyone can do. Meditation is a journey of unconditioned compassion. Meditation is an antidote to violent nature of mind.

Fate is the outcome of your mind

Fate is when you live out greed and ambition

Fate is the result of your anger

Fate is when you are in mind.

Destiny is Love

Destiny is river flowing back to Ocean

Destiny is right now and be here

Destiny is taking a ticket to no where.

Destiny is your deep acceptance of what you are.

Destiny is when you give up your fate and stay in Love.

Don’t blame your fate for your problems. You worry about fate because you are stuck in problems of the world. In Love there is no where to go, You have arrived at your destiny even before you start your Journey. Your destiny is manifested in you and by your awareness.

Meditation is joy of journey, Meditation is art of manifesting your destiny.

you take so much time to keep your house clean

your cubicle clean,

your body clean,

your place clean,

why won’t

you take sometime everyday to clean your Mind?

truly it doesn’t matter how dirty is your cup

when you are drinking divine.

Meditation is science of cleaning your mind. Meditation is the only broomstick you need to remove dust gathered on your mind. Meditation is your vacuum cleaner to get in to no-mind.

Anger knocked on my door

Love answered the door

only to find

no-one outside the door.

I heard the knock again few days later

Love opened the door

only to find Love outside.

Meditation is a way of Love, Meditation is knowing this world is made of stuff called Love. Meditation is Love.

Lots of love, dear ones

This is where I started my life!

I am always right, I am right even when I am wrong

My Ego was bigger than truth

slowly I realised I was wrong most of the times. I was just lost in philosophical jungle of RIGHT and WRONG!

Soon I learned that I need to stop worrying about Right and Wrong

But the truth is

I am in awareness or I am in Unconsciousness, That’s all

mmm….

Whatever I did in awareness turned out to be right path

whatever I did out of unconsciousness didn’t go too far

So I have stopped thinking over RIGHT and WRONG

All I am aspiring is to stay in awareness!

Meditation is art of Staying in middle path, Meditation is to know you are always on a right path with awareness. Meditation is beyond right and wrong.

Love

Eyes are an amazing science. What you see can create a ripple of thoughts inside you. In an over communicative world, Eyes need rest. They need rest from your thinking and constant chattering of mind. Let me share with you photos, which takes your mind away. Let me give you a taste of silence for a moment. This site is your private space. Space where you can be just still and enjoy images. My effort is to create a guidaspirituale thru images.
