The moment you open up your heart and allow all the secrets that you are hiding behind you to come into the light, you become weightless. Those secrets make you feel burdened. You are always afraid of being caught – those secrets make you afraid. Confession can free you from those burdens, those
fears; and confession also accepts your humbleness, your sincerity, your being a human being.
But confession in itself – confession to the trees, confession to the stars – just talking out yourheart completely, saying everything that you are hiding from the world, will have a tremendous, psychologically healing effect.
But talk to the universe, open your heart without anything held back, and you will feel a tremendous relief, a sense of cleanliness, purity, innocence. So if your questions feel like confessions it is perfectly good; don’t feel guilty about it. Each question is a confession of your ignorance. And any
confession of ignorance is good.
we remain alienated from one another..
after such extended togetherness
we again depart again to meet again in the hope…
this time our hearts would meet.
will these eyes ever witness
a green and spotless spring
Will the rains from heaven
cleanse the garden
of the stains of blood
I recall that the eve of
from our last lives…
When I stood On this bank
and saw you cross the
Ruthless were the moments
that followed the
pangs of end of love
Lightness were the morns
that follwed those
generous sights of union
I call for you….
I sing your name in this forest…
the birds respond to my wail and
return with a
heavy heart….as the song stops
I recall these moments…
though much was
much was said….
but…what i went
prepared from deep
within my soul to say
was left unsaid….
When you don’t have a temple in your heart? How can you find your heart in the temple?
the same applies to Mosques and churches or any other places of prayer too! In fact Mohammed never believed in building Idols becasue of same reason! He felt that wherever you are , You can carry Mecca with you!
Go inside and you will rediscover yourself. Over the years Temples, Mosques, Churches were built to remind you of your inner centre. Enlightened masters over the year knew that with civilization, man would lose his centre. They wanted to create spots or energy pools where you can go back & remember your centre. Sufi’s call the way of the bleoved as “zikr” which means remembrance!
But over the years all these religious places have lost its reverence and they have become more of business places! In fact at these places you will be surrounded by people who will take you far away from your centre.
It is important you find centre in your heart because it is the only spot which is not corrupted yet! Once you find Temple in your heart then it is easy to pray at a Temple or Church!
Meditation is nothing but a way to find your center.
The ordinary mind continuously doubts; in Meditation the doubt is relaxed, the gestalt changes, you start trusting. The ordinary mind always thinks negatively; in Meditation you move to the positive; the pendulum moves from one polarity to another. The ordinary mind always desires, hankering, groping in the future; in meditation the future disappears, you are utterly here now. This moment becomes your totality, and in that very totality something, a door that has remained closed forever, opens up.
To find a center means to trust in miracles, to meditate means that things are possible without your doing anything at all. To Meditate means that you need not go anywhere and all can come to you, wherever you are. To Meditate means that the existence has not abandoned you; you can still call it forth. It has mothered you; it is not indifferent to you. In short, Finding center means believing in the impossible ! And when you believe in the impossible, it happens.
It’s strange but true, we have this urge to dissect everything on table top. That’s what universities teach us. Way back in college I met one of the living poets whose poem was part of my curriculum.
I happened to to meet him over a dinner and told him I liked his poems. I also told him I never get good marks over his Poems . I told him I score well in prose but less in poetry.
He looked into my eyes and laughed! , He told me the very reason he wrote poems was because he did not want to write in prose!. Now universities prepare questions in detail to ask student’s understanding of poem!
Poet and poems belong to world of romantics or world of heart. To convert poems into theory means moving away from heart to head . Or like my friend says – Can you show me dancing sitting silently?
For a longtime in India Veda’s were transferred from generation to generation only thru singing. Absolute no writing. Old timers believed that once they write People will use their head and lose meaning. Even now In India cities like Varanasi, Sringeri, Mathura there are number of schools who do not allow you to carry pen or pencil but teaches you entire Gita by singing!.
That’s why western world could never gets enough of Rumi. Rumi spoke language of heart not of theory!. For a university bred westerners Rumi came as breath of fresh air! He had no sense of grammar or rhymes. His language was more of divine flow. Now western world is hell bent on creating grammar and rhyme out of Rumi’s world. No wonder song of divine has become university dissection exercise.
To read a poem you need to know language of heart. Otherwise you missed the bus. To read is not correct way to describe poem! probably to feel may be more Right!.
Haiku’s, Veda’s, Bible, Quaran, Gita -all were part of Divine songs. Now we have truck load of books explaining each one of them. Lost In translation! I leave you with one of My Sufiana poems.
he asked me – show me God?
I jumped and broke into peacock dance,
I screamed in ecstasy,
I kissed him and said to him “I love you”,
I asked if we can drink wine to celebrate !
I asked him if he can feel my Breathing!
I asked him slowly – did i answer his question?
he told me – i must be a Mad Bastard! I really wasted his time”
I couldn’t not understand
I told him to come back again,
I’ll try again to answer him,
may be this time I’ll dance better
when you are silent your potential speaks to you. whispers to you. And those whisperings are absolutely categorical-no if’s and buts. The heart knows nothing of if and buts. it simply says this is your destiny. Become a painter or a poet or a sculptor or a dancer or a musician. It simply says this is how you will be full filled.
it starts directing you.
the function of Mediation is to help you to make silent so that you can hear your own whisperings, you own inner calling, Then your life starts moving towards inner discipline.
Meditation is nothing but helping you discover your insight. then you are free, then you move towards freedom.
Don’t die with music in your heart, Take risks and jump. to take risks you need to know how to listen to heart. listening to heart is art called meditation. Unless you take risks you will never know your potential.
